Festival of Eid - April 2022
We held a special assembly to help our whole school community learn about the festival of Eid.
As Ramadan drew to a close, Muslims all over the world celebrated Eid al-Fitr (also known as Eid ul-Fitr). Eid marks the end of a month of fasting from dawn to sunset, as well as spiritual reflection and prayer.
Under usual circumstances, the day starts with prayers and a family meal is an important ending to the day, but there’s lots of other ways people celebrate too.
Miss Arif taught us all about the festival and we watched some exciting videos to help us learn more. Many of our families celebrated Eid and it was really important for all our pupils to learn about the beliefs and traditions of different cultures.
